BIRTHDAY SELFIE Lyn took the opportunity to document another year with a birthday selfie. Still lookin' good!
JOE'S BELATED BIRTHDAY PRESENT I got him a new tri-fold wallet from Tommy Hilfiger, as I heard he was desperately in need of one.
INDOOR/OUTDOOR THERMOMETER AND "GRAVITY" Lyn and Joe did as I did long, long ago and threw away their old indoor/outdoor thermometer when they couldn't get it to register. I found out you have to put the batteries in the sensor and the readout unit in in a certain way. Live and learn.
BELATED BIRTHDAY GIFT #2 I got Joe a really good book about the Alamo. Unfortunately, it was the only copy at the bookstore, so I may have to order me one. I love all things Alamo.
TUNED WINDCHIMES I got these cool windchimes for Lyn that go bong, bong, bong instead of tinkle, tinkle, tinkle. Neither one of us like the tinkly ones.
OOH-LA-LA Joe got Lyn some beautiful dangling earrings. Really nice stuff!
BIRTHDAY CAKE TIME This cake had the creamiest frosting I've ever seen on a cake. Yum!!!
AT ORTEGA'S(?) Lyn, Joe, and I went to their favorite Mexican food restaurant in Hamilton for Lyn's birthday. I think the name was Ortega's.
JOE AND LYN Photo ops abound. I forgot my stupid camera, though! What's up with that?
DOUG AND LYN Since I was one of the birthday kids, I had to get in the shot.
HOLY CRAP!!! This Smartphone's camera adds about 20 pounds to everyone. Yikes! None of us are as large as we look. No, really!
JOE DOING THE TEXAN THING Nothing says "Texan" like a guy leaning on the bed of his pickup.
THE NON-TEXAN THING Then there's me.
TREKKIE SCORES #2 I got the second season of the original Star Trek on Blu-ray. And just in time, too, as I'm almost done with season one. Cool!
DVDs GALORE I also scored a huge stack of DVDs, as well, and ones I don't have already. Oh, yeah!
CHUCK AMUCK I also got a book about the career of one of my favorite catroonists, Chuck Jones, of Looney Toons fame. This guy did Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn Leghorn, Martin the Martian, etc. What a talent.
AT COUNTRY KITCHEN I wanted fried catfish for my birthday dinner, so we went to Country Kitchen's all-you-can-eat buffet. Good God, was I full.
THE BIRTHDAY BOY Lyn was apparently not happy with this shot, so . . .
TAKE TWO . . . she tried for a vertical. Of course, I couldn't resist throwing a little humor into the mix. It just seemed logical somehow.
CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TIme for the blowhard to do his business before the cake gets baked yet another time. Woo hoo!!!
SUCCESS They don't call me Big Bag of Wind for nothing.
OHMIGOD After the dinner I had, I barely had room for a piece of cake, but it was German Chocolate, so I dove in. Love that stuff!!!
ALL BETTER NOW There's always room for German Chocolate Cake -- maybe.
