1996-2000 - Life With Lisa
Lisa and I, having gotten fed up with dealing with the concessionaire at Mt Rainier NP, decided to sell off what we could at a bohemian-style yard sale and hit the road. One of our friends and fellow co-workers was good enough to hitch up Lisa's 18' travel trailer to his Montero and haul it all the way down from the camground in the park to the BP gas station's RV park in Ashford, where Lisa, our friend Paula, and I sniffled, sneezed, and snotted our fool brains out (massive allergic reactions to the grass) while awaiting our final checks. Lisa and I eventually found the vehicle of our (my) dreams -- a blue-and-white 1984 Chevy Blazer -- and hitched it up and hit the road. We would be on the road off and on for the next four years. Our first stop, however, was the idyllic Estes Park, Colorado, where we would work at the historic Stanley Hotel. Here we go . . .

NEW TRUCK GETS NEW REAR AXLE
Puyallup, Washington
Well, it was new to us, but it was a 1984 model. No matter, I loved it from the first moment I laid eyes on it and it was a superb vehicle. The only trouble at this point was that the previous owner used it to tow his boat to the salty waters of Florida and water had gotten into the differential case and rusted the rear axle. $1500 in repair bills later, we were ready to hit the road.
