NAS Barbers Point, Honolulu, Hawaii - August 1973
I spent 13 hours crammed into one of these things with about a hundred of my squadron mates on our way back from our cruise in Spain in 1972. The ride over in a luxurious TWA Boeing 707 -- cute stewardesses, in-flight movie, etc. -- was much more pleasant, let me tell you. (I still have the TWA Junior Pilot wings one of the cute stewardesses gave me. I'm never getting rid of those.) I never actually flew in the plane shown here, but I didn't take a photo of one I did fly all those hours in, so I thought I'd use this as a representative shot.
