13-02 Molly

Apparently, the animal gods decided I've lived long enough without a cat, so this one stole into my dreams one night and stole my heart away. I have had this problem with dreams before. It doesn't help that she's cute as all get-out, either. So, it looks like I'm going to be saddled to yet another head-strong little feline, and will most likely become completely enamored of her. [I already have.] We'll start off with photos that my sister, Lyn, sent me of her, complete with her own captions in quotation marks. More photos will follow, don't worry. This will be a work in progress.

    "Molly was eating with the bigger kitties and big cats - big advantage to be so small and sneak under the others! This bowl of milk was surrounded by cats until I went in to get my phone!! All sizes of felines!! Molly was the littlest."

    Almost all of Lyn's kitties have played or rested in her flower pots at one time or another. It's a cat thing.

    "I poured milk and here they all came. Miss Molly wasn't about to be left out! Snuck right in amongst the big boys, and staked her claim with her two front feet!! Earlier, when I put out the dry food, I found her in a bowl of food all to herself, with all 4 feet planted in it! For a little tyke, she's a survivor! Her sibling doesn't do this! She sits back and watches until the coast is clear or Mama's milk wagon shows up!"

    "I had put this pot in the broken pot pile, then realized that every cat that's small enough has slept in it, so I brought it back up, and sure enough, this new generation has adopted it, too! Must be a cool place to hang out!! Molly had been lying in it, playing with the hole in the bottom. Then, Rosie saw her and came over to lick her, then Molly started playing with her, so they were both being really playful! It was so cute! So, the pot stays! Too bad if visitors don't like it!!"

    "This was immediately after eating dry food (with all 4 feet in bowl), then the milk next (only front 2 feet in the bowl), and then Mama's milk next! All within 30 minutes time! Of course, who knows how much a tiny kitty actually eats at a time? But, it did strike me as rather piggish on her part! Her sister (yellow one), doesn't do that!! She's a pill!"

    After a disastrous first hour in the crate, I decided to let her roam the car free. Much, much, MUCH better. She slept most of the way after that. Here she is doing her pirate parrot imitation. She just loves to sit on my shoulder and watch the countryside go by.

    She didn't mind sleeping all the way home on top of the crate, but just don't try putting her in it. No way.

    If she looks a little pissed, that's because she was rudely rousted from sleep by being tossed off the crate by a washout in the draw I have to cross getting to the house. One minute she was there, the next not. Poor baby.

    The drawback to having such a cute office assistant is you can never get any work done. I don't know what keys she pushed to make the screen go haywire, but I had to reboot the computer to continue working.

    FedEx just delivered the new cat tree my sister Lyn ordered. Molly took full advantage of it right away.

    Well, this was a revoltin' development. I was going to fix myself a couple of hot dogs and Little Miss Behave caught the scent and started climbing up my leg to get at it. I thought I'd put her up on the counter to see just what she would do and she grabbed on to one of the dogs and dragged it over to the side and started chowing down on it. I tried to take it away from her, but she was in true Carnivore Mode and wouldn't let it go. Wow. Look at her go.

    This is what happens when you spend so much time farting around with your cat you forget to set the timer. A total blowout. Well, at least it still tasted good, as it was my last one.
